No — ElevenLabs has no unlimited text-to-speech plan. Every tier has a monthly credit cap, from 10,000 credits on Free to 6,000,000 on Business ($990/mo); Enterprise plans are custom. The closest you get is combining a high plan with rollover (up to 3× your quota) and pay-as-you-go top-ups. Checked 5 Nov 2026.

Best for: high-volume users who want the biggest fixed credit pools and understand the caps — agencies, audiobook producers, and API-heavy apps.

Not for: anyone expecting flat-rate unlimited synthesis; every plan meters usage.

Starting price: Free $0/mo with 10,000 credits (checked 5 Nov 2026); the largest fixed plan is Business $990/mo (checked 5 Nov 2026).

ElevenLabs text to speech unlimited: the direct answer

There is no unlimited ElevenLabs plan — not on the pricing page, not as a hidden tier, and not as an add-on. We checked the full plan lineup on 5 Nov 2026: Free, Starter, Creator, Pro, Scale, Business, and Enterprise. Every one of them defines a monthly credit allowance, and the largest fixed allowance is 6,000,000 credits on Business at $990/mo. If you need more than that, Enterprise is custom — but still metered, not unlimited.

This surprises people because “unlimited” is common in consumer software. But AI voice generation has a real per-unit compute cost, so ElevenLabs meters it like cloud infrastructure: you pay for what you generate. Understanding the caps — and the legitimate ways to stretch them — is more useful than hunting for an unlimited tier that does not exist.

Where does the “unlimited” idea come from? Mostly from confusion with free trials and from other software categories. ElevenLabs’ own docs are explicit: credits are the currency, every product spends them, and plans define the allowance. Once you think in credits instead of minutes, the caps feel less like limits and more like a budget you control.

Notice the pattern: each step up roughly quadruples the credits while the per-minute overage falls. The pricing rewards commitment — which is exactly why the unlimited question keeps coming up, and why the answer stays no.

How close can you get to unlimited?

The closest legitimate lever is rollover. On paid plans, unused credits carry forward up to two months, and your balance can reach 3× your monthly quota. On Pro, that means banking up to 1,800,000 credits for a monster month. The catch: rollover needs an active subscription, and downgrading or cancelling forfeits the bank.

The second lever is pay-as-you-go top-up credits, sold separately from subscriptions and exempt from the rollover cap. Top-ups are the overflow valve: keep a base plan for steady work and buy top-ups for spike months. Our ElevenLabs credits explained guide details both mechanisms.

The third lever is efficiency. Flash and Turbo models cost 0.5–1 credit per character via the API instead of 1, effectively doubling high-volume throughput on the same credit pool. For bulk narration, model choice is a saving you give yourself.

The Free plan cannot be stretched the same way: it has no rollover and no top-ups, so its 10,000 monthly credits are a hard ceiling that simply refreshes each cycle. If you consistently hit the Free ceiling, that is the signal to move to Starter — the $1 first-month offer makes the experiment cheap.

How to get the most audio per dollar

  1. Measure your real monthly usage in characters, then pick the smallest plan that covers it — overbuying wastes rollover headroom. (0 credits to calculate)
  2. Generate bulk work with Flash or Turbo via the API at 0.5–1 credit per character. (Credit cost: about half the standard rate)
  3. Bank unused credits with rollover up to 3× your quota for spike months. (0 credits; requires an active paid plan)
  4. Buy top-up credits for overflow instead of jumping two plan tiers at once. (Costs money; exempt from the rollover cap)
  5. Regenerate wisely — credits are charged per generation, not per download, and free retries are sometimes available when settings are unchanged. (0 credits when a retry is free)

What to do if you outgrow every plan

If 6,000,000 monthly credits are not enough, talk to sales about Enterprise: custom quotas, invoicing, and support terms. Our Enterprise pricing guide covers what to ask for. API-heavy users should also read our API pricing guide, since high-volume API use has its own math. Between Enterprise quotas, top-ups, and rollover, genuinely unlimited is the only thing money cannot buy here.

If your usage is spiky rather than steady, a mid-tier plan plus top-ups often beats a top-tier plan sitting half-empty. Match the subscription to your baseline and let top-ups absorb the peaks — that is the closest thing to unlimited the platform offers.

Before contacting sales, document your usage: monthly characters, peak versus baseline, and which products you use. Enterprise quotes are built on those numbers, and a clear usage profile gets you a better-fitting quota. Our API quickstart guide helps you measure programmatic usage accurately.

Pros

  • Clear, published caps on every plan — no surprise throttling.
  • Rollover (up to 3× quota) and top-ups give real flexibility.
  • Per-minute overage rates are published and fall with plan size.
  • Flash/Turbo API rates effectively double bulk throughput.

Cons

  • No unlimited option at any price.
  • Overage at $0.17–$0.36 per minute adds up fast.
  • Rollover is forfeited on downgrade or cancel; none on Free.
  • Enterprise is the only path past 6M credits, and it is still metered.

Who should NOT chase unlimited

Do not hold out for an unlimited plan — it does not exist, and waiting costs you productive months. If your usage is under about 30 minutes a month, the Free or Starter plan already covers you; the unlimited question only matters past Pro. And if your budget cannot tolerate metered pricing at all, a voice AI with per-character billing is simply the wrong category — no plan here will feel unlimited.

Frequently asked questions

Does ElevenLabs have an unlimited plan?

No. Every plan has a monthly credit cap, from 10,000 credits on Free to 6,000,000 on Business ($990/mo). Enterprise plans are custom but still metered. There is no unlimited tier, add-on, or hidden option. (checked 5 Nov 2026)

What is the highest ElevenLabs plan?

Business at $990/mo with 6,000,000 monthly credits (about 6,000 TTS minutes) is the largest fixed plan. Above that, Enterprise offers custom quotas and terms — contact sales. Our Enterprise pricing guide covers what to negotiate. (checked 5 Nov 2026)

Can I get unlimited credits with rollover?

No — rollover is capped. Unused paid-plan credits carry forward up to two months, with your balance maxing at 3× your monthly quota. On Pro that is 1,800,000 banked credits, which is generous but not unlimited. (checked 5 Nov 2026)

Do top-up credits make ElevenLabs unlimited?

Effectively for most budgets, but not literally. Pay-as-you-go top-ups let you buy beyond your plan without a cap on purchases, and they are exempt from the rollover cap. Your spending is still metered — there is just no hard ceiling on top-ups. (checked 5 Nov 2026)

How much does 1 hour of ElevenLabs audio cost?

About 60,000 credits on standard models (1 credit per character, roughly 1,000 characters per minute). On Pro ($99/mo, 600,000 credits) that is around a tenth of the plan; overage beyond your plan runs about $0.17 per minute on Pro. Flash/Turbo API rates can halve the credit cost. (checked 5 Nov 2026)

Is there a free unlimited text to speech?

No. The Free plan gives 10,000 monthly credits (about 10 minutes) for personal use, with no rollover. “Free unlimited” offers elsewhere are usually rate-limited trials or lower quality — ElevenLabs’ free tier is capped but full-quality. (checked 5 Nov 2026)

Will ElevenLabs ever offer unlimited?

ElevenLabs has never offered an unlimited tier, and its pricing page shows no sign of one — the trend has been more granular metering (per-product rates, Flash efficiency tiers), not less. If your needs grow, the realistic path is Scale or Business plus top-ups, or Enterprise. (checked 5 Nov 2026)

Is ElevenLabs Reader unlimited?

No. The Reader app draws from the same credit pool as everything else — listening to articles and documents spends credits at the standard text-to-speech rate. There is no separate unlimited listening tier. (checked 5 Nov 2026)
