Higgsfield credits are the currency for every generation. Plans include 270 (Starter, $19/month), 1,200 (Plus, $59/month) or 3,000 (Ultra, $129/month) monthly credits. A 5-second 720p video costs ~22 credits on Seedance 2.0, ~7 on Kling 3.0 and ~40 on Veo 3.1; images cost 0.12–2 credits. Credits refresh monthly and don’t roll over. Checked 1 Nov 2026.
Best for: creators who want predictable video costs — published per-model rates let you budget each project to the credit.
Not for: anyone who expects credits to accumulate; monthly expiry punishes irregular users.
Starting price: $19/month (Starter, 270 credits) — checked on higgsfield.ai/pricing, 1 Nov 2026.
What Higgsfield credits are
Credits are Higgsfield’s unit of consumption. Image generation, video generation and upscaling all draw from the same balance, and each model has its own price based on its compute cost. Your plan deposits a fixed allowance on each billing date — 270 on Starter, 1,200 on Plus, 3,000 on Ultra — and the Free tier deposits nothing (0 credits/month). Separate from credits, paid plans include free generations on Higgsfield’s own models (Soul V2, Cinema, Genjutsu) that don’t touch your balance: 300 on Starter, 5,000 on Plus and 10,000 on Ultra.

How many credits each plan gives you
| Plan | Price | Monthly credits | Cost per credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 0 | — |
| Starter | $19/mo (monthly or annual) | 270 | ~7.0¢ |
| Plus | $59/mo or $47/mo annual | 1,200 | ~4.9¢ / ~3.9¢ |
| Ultra | $129/mo or $99/mo annual | 3,000 | ~4.3¢ / ~3.3¢ |
Two things stand out. First, Starter has no annual discount — $19 either way — so there’s no reason to commit annually at that tier. Second, the cheapest credit on the page is Ultra billed annually at ~3.3 cents, less than half the Starter rate. But cheap credits only matter if you use them: 3,000 credits at 3.3 cents each still costs $99/month, and unused credits expire.
The maths: what each plan produces per month
| Monthly output | Starter (270) | Plus (1,200) | Ultra (3,000) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0 clips (5s, 720p) | ~12 | ~54 | ~136 |
| Kling 3.0 clips (5s, 720p) | ~38 | ~171 | ~428 |
| Veo 3.1 clips (4s, 720p) | ~6 | ~30 | ~75 |
| Nano Banana Pro images | 135 | 600 | 1,500 |
| Soul 2.0 images | 2,250 | 10,000 | 25,000 |
Read the table by your workload. A creator posting two short videos a week (8 clips/month) fits comfortably on Starter with Kling 3.0 (38-clip capacity) but not with Veo 3.1 (6-clip capacity) — the model choice decides the plan, not the other way around. Image-heavy users barely need paid credits at all: Soul 2.0’s 0.12-credit price means Starter’s allowance converts to over 2,000 images. Our Higgsfield pricing breakdown turns these numbers into per-project budgets.
How to spend fewer credits per project
- Pick the cheapest suitable model. Kling 3.0 at ~7 credits beats Seedance 2.0 at ~22 and Veo 3.1 at ~40 per clip. Test whether the cheaper model meets your bar before defaulting to the expensive one.
- Render at 720p first. Seedance 2.0 jumps from ~22 credits at 720p to ~60 at 1080p and ~110 at 4K. Draft at 720p; upscale only the winners.
- Use free generations where they apply. Soul V2, Cinema and Genjutsu generations on paid plans don’t touch your credit balance — route eligible work there first.
- Batch inside the billing cycle. Credits expire monthly, so a burst of production in one cycle beats dribbling generations across three.
- Prototype with images. At 0.12–2 credits per image versus 7–40 per video clip, storyboarding in images before committing to video multiplies your testing budget.
Credit rules: expiry, rollover and free generations
Higgsfield’s pricing FAQ is explicit: credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle and unused credits do not roll over. There is no banking, no pause-and-keep, no carry-forward — plan each month’s generations inside the month. The separate free-generation allowances (300/5,000/10,000 on Soul V2 and Cinema for Starter/Plus/Ultra, plus Genjutsu and AI Influencer generations) also reset with the plan rather than accumulating. Subscriptions auto-renew, and you can cancel anytime from account settings with access continuing to the end of the billing period — our cancellation guide covers the details.
Higgsfield credits: pros and cons
Pros
- Per-model credit costs are published, so every project can be budgeted exactly.
- Huge cost range (0.12 to ~110 credits) lets you match spend to quality needs.
- Free generations on Higgsfield’s own models don’t touch the credit balance.
- Annual billing cuts per-credit costs roughly in half on Plus and Ultra.
Cons
- Credits expire monthly — irregular users pay for credits they never spend.
- Premium video (Veo 3.1, 4K) burns through allowances fast: ~40–110 credits per clip.
- The Free tier gets 0 monthly credits, so there’s no free way to learn the credit system at volume.
- No rollover or banking, even on the $129/month Ultra plan.
- Credit pricing varies by model, length and resolution — budgeting needs the full table, not a headline number.
Who shouldn’t buy credits yet
If you generate fewer than a dozen images a month, stay on the Free plan and the signup bonus — paid credits would mostly expire unused. If your usage is spiky (one project per quarter), monthly Starter bought only in production months beats a continuous subscription; just remember credits don’t survive to the next project. And if you haven’t tested the models, run the free-credit routes first — buying 1,200 credits before knowing whether Kling 3.0 meets your bar is spending blind.
Picking the right plan by monthly output
Match the plan to the table above, not to the marketing. Under ~30 clips a month on budget models: Starter. Regular production on mid-tier models: Plus (and consider annual billing at $47/month once usage is proven). Daily output or 4K: Ultra. For the full tier comparison see our Higgsfield pricing breakdown, and for the model-by-model verdict the Higgsfield AI review. If your videos need voiceover, the ElevenLabs pricing guide covers narration from 10,000 free credits per month.
Frequently asked questions
How much does one Higgsfield video cost in credits?
It depends on the model, length and resolution. A 5-second 720p clip costs ~7 credits on Kling 3.0, ~12 on Seedance 2.0 Fast, ~22 on Seedance 2.0 and ~40 per 4 seconds on Google Veo 3.1. At 1080p, Seedance 2.0 rises to ~60 credits and 4K to ~110. Always check the credit cost shown in the generator before rendering — the pricing page publishes every rate.
Do Higgsfield credits expire?
Yes. Credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle and unused credits do not roll over, per the pricing FAQ. This applies to all paid plans and to any bonus credits. To avoid waste, batch your generations inside each billing month rather than spreading small jobs across several months.
Which Higgsfield plan has the cheapest credits?
Ultra billed annually: $99/month for 3,000 credits works out to ~3.3 cents per credit — less than half the Starter rate of ~7 cents. Plus billed annually (~3.9 cents) is next. But the cheapest per-credit plan only saves money if you actually spend the credits; unused credits expire, so oversized plans waste more than they save.
What’s the cheapest way to generate video on Higgsfield?
Kling 3.0 at ~7 credits per five seconds at 720p — roughly a third of Seedance 2.0’s ~22 and a sixth of Veo 3.1’s ~40. For drafts, Seedance 1.5 at 480p costs ~1 credit per five seconds. Combine the cheapest suitable model with 720p rendering and the free-generation allowances on Soul V2, Cinema and Genjutsu to minimize credit spend.
Do free generations use my credits?
No. The free-generation allowances on paid plans — 300/5,000/10,000 on Soul V2 and Cinema for Starter/Plus/Ultra, plus Genjutsu and AI Influencer generations — don’t draw from your credit balance. They’re the first thing to use for eligible work, since credits are better saved for models with no free allowance.
How do I check my Higgsfield credit balance?
Your current balance and renewal date are shown in your account’s subscription or billing section on higgsfield.ai — the same area where you manage cancellation. Because credits expire monthly, check the balance a few days before renewal and spend any remainder on renders, variations or upscales you might need.
