You can create a character in Higgsfield in three ways: train a Soul ID digital twin from 20 or more photos of yourself in about 3 minutes, build a fictional AI Influencer from scratch in three steps, or cast AI actors with Soul Cast in Cinema Studio. Starter plans cost $19/mo (checked 5 Nov 2026); character setup itself uses no credits beyond your monthly allowance.
Best for: creators who want a reusable AI persona for videos, ads, or social content.
Not for: anyone who needs a real actor’s likeness without consent, or a one-off clip where a stock preset is faster.
Starting price: $19/mo Starter (checked 5 Nov 2026).
The 3 ways to create a character in Higgsfield
Higgsfield does not have one single “character creator” button. Instead, character creation is split across three features, and picking the wrong one wastes time. Use Soul ID when the character must look like you, use AI Influencer when you want to invent someone new for social content, and use Soul Cast when you need directed actors for a film-style scene. Each route is described with its steps and credit costs below.
Method 1: Soul ID — train your own digital twin
Soul ID turns 20 or more photos of you into a reusable AI character that keeps your face consistent across images and video. Training takes about 3 minutes. Once trained, the character appears in your library and you can drop it into Soul 2.0 photo shoots, Soul Cinema scenes, or Genjutsu motion transfers.
Step 1 — Upload at least 20 photos (0 credits)
Open Soul ID and upload a minimum of 20 clear photos of your face: front, three-quarter, and profile angles, different lighting, no heavy filters, no other people. Uploading is free; it costs 0 credits. Blurry or filtered photos are the main reason characters come out looking off, so use sharp, natural shots.
Step 2 — Train the model (about 3 minutes, 0 credits)
Start training and wait roughly 3 minutes. Training itself does not spend credits. When it finishes, Higgsfield stores your Soul ID character in your account, where you can reuse it across photo and video models without retraining.
Step 3 — Generate with your character (from ~0.12 credits/image)
Pick your trained character, choose a Soul 2.0 style preset, and generate. Soul 2.0 images cost about 0.12 credits each, so 100 character photos cost roughly 12 credits. For video, drop the character into Soul Cinema or a Genjutsu motion transfer and pay the normal per-video credit rate of the model you choose.
Method 2: AI Influencer — invent someone new
AI Influencer is a character builder plus a video engine. You describe a person with settings like gender and character type, or start from your own photo, and Higgsfield creates portrait and full-body shots on a white background. Then you pick a motion — a trending preset or a 3–30 second clip you upload — and Genjutsu animates the character frame by frame.
Step 1 — Design the character (0 credits to set up)
Open the AI Influencer page and choose your influencer type — Average, Bold, or Extreme — then set gender, character type, and look, or upload your own face. Setup costs 0 credits. The page generates portrait and full-body shots on white so you can check the design before spending anything on video.
Step 2 — Pick a motion (0 credits)
Choose a trending motion preset or upload your own 3–30 second video. Movement, camera, and timing all come from this clip. Picking the motion is free; you only spend credits when you generate.
Step 3 — Generate the video (model credit rate applies)
Click Generate and download a ready-to-post video. The credit cost depends on the video model Higgsfield uses for the motion transfer — budget the standard per-video rate (for example, around 7 credits per 5 seconds at 720p on Kling-class models). A 15-second influencer clip therefore costs roughly 21 credits.
Method 3: Soul Cast — direct AI actors for film
Soul Cast lives inside Cinema Studio and creates full AI actors for films: pick a genre, era, and archetype, and Higgsfield builds a consistent character you can direct across scenes. This is the route for short films and series where the same face must appear in every shot.
Step 1 — Define the actor (0 credits)
Open Cinema Studio, go to Cast, and set the genre, era, and archetype for your actor. You can create multiple actors for one project. Defining actors costs 0 credits.
Step 2 — Direct scenes with the cast (per-video credit rate)
Write scene prompts that reference your cast members and generate each shot. Every video generation bills at the model’s normal credit rate — for example, Veo 3.1 Fast costs about 16 credits per 4 seconds at 720p, while a Kling-class 720p clip costs about 7 credits per 5 seconds. Ten 5-second scenes therefore run roughly 70–160 credits depending on the model.
Which method should you pick?
Match the method to the job. Soul ID is the only route that reproduces your real face; AI Influencer is fastest for inventing a new persona for social feeds; Soul Cast is built for multi-scene stories where actors must stay consistent.
• Pick Soul ID if the character must be you — faceless channels, personal brand, talking-head videos.
• Pick AI Influencer if you want a new virtual persona for TikTok, Reels, or Shorts without filming yourself.
• Pick Soul Cast if you are directing a short film or series with several actors and scenes.
How much does creating a character cost?
I read the Starter/Plus/Ultra plan set (US) on higgsfield.ai/pricing on 5 Nov 2026: Starter is $19/mo (checked 5 Nov 2026), Plus is $59/mo or $47/mo billed yearly with 1,200 credits (checked 5 Nov 2026), Ultra is $129/mo or $99/mo billed yearly with 3,000 credits (checked 5 Nov 2026), and Free is $0 with 0 credits (checked 5 Nov 2026) — see the full plan comparison.
Character setup — uploading photos, training Soul ID, designing an influencer, defining a cast — costs 0 credits on every plan. You spend credits only when you generate images or video. A practical budget: 100 Soul 2.0 character portraits at ~0.12 credits each = ~12 credits, and a 30-second influencer video at ~7 credits per 5 seconds = ~42 credits. Both fit inside the Starter plan’s monthly allowance with room to spare.

Pros
• Three distinct routes cover every common case: your face, a new persona, or film actors.
• Soul ID training is fast (about 3 minutes) and reusable across photo and video models.
• Character setup costs 0 credits; you pay only for the images and videos you generate.
• AI Influencer needs no prompt skill — pick a type, pick a motion, generate.
Cons
• Soul ID needs at least 20 good photos; weak uploads produce weak likeness.
• Fictional characters can drift between scenes; check consistency before a long series.
• Video generation still bills per model rate, so long character series add up in credits.
• You may not train Soul ID on someone else’s face without their consent.
Who should NOT create a character in Higgsfield
Skip character creation if you only need a single quick clip — a trending preset or a stock AI actor is faster and cheaper. Also skip it if you want to recreate a real celebrity or a private individual: Higgsfield’s face tools are meant for your own likeness or fictional people, and misusing them can violate the platform’s rules and applicable law.
Frequently asked questions
How many photos do I need to create a character in Higgsfield?
You need a minimum of 20 photos to train a Soul ID character. Use sharp, unfiltered shots of your face from several angles and lighting setups. Uploading is free and training takes about 3 minutes. If you are building a fictional AI Influencer instead, you need zero photos — you design the look with settings or upload a single face to start from.
Is it free to create a character in Higgsfield?
Setting up a character is free on every plan: uploading photos, training Soul ID, designing an influencer, and defining a Soul Cast cost 0 credits. You need a paid plan to generate, though — Starter is $19/mo (checked 5 Nov 2026) — because image and video generations bill credits at each model’s normal rate.
Can I create a character that looks like someone else?
Technically the tools accept uploaded faces, but you should only train Soul ID on yourself or on someone who gave explicit consent. Recreating real people — especially celebrities or private individuals — without permission can violate Higgsfield’s terms and applicable law. For fictional people, AI Influencer and Soul Cast are the right routes.
Which is better: Soul ID or AI Influencer?
They solve different problems. Soul ID reproduces your real face, so it is better for personal brands, faceless channels with a consistent host, and talking-head content. AI Influencer invents a new person, so it is better for virtual personas, themed accounts, and content where you never want to appear. Many creators use both: Soul ID for themselves, influencers for side channels.
Do characters stay consistent across videos?
Soul ID characters are the most consistent because they are trained on your face. AI Influencer characters are consistent within a single generation but can drift if you regenerate the design. Soul Cast actors are built for multi-scene consistency in Cinema Studio. For long series, generate a reference set first and compare faces before committing credits to full episodes.
Can I use my character for commercial projects?
Yes — videos you generate with your character on a paid plan can be used commercially under Higgsfield’s normal terms. The Free plan has 0 credits, so commercial work in practice needs Starter ($19/mo, checked 5 Nov 2026) or higher. If a brand deal depends on it, confirm the current terms on higgsfield.ai before you publish.
